1. Scope and operator
This Privacy Policy explains how Lefty Software LLC (“CourtWiz,” “we,” “us,” or “our”) collects, uses, discloses, and retains personal information when you use courtwiz.app, create an account, join a group, organize or respond to a match, receive a CourtWiz email, or use a related CourtWiz feature.
CourtWiz is operated from Bradenton, Florida. This policy does not govern a court facility, club, group administrator, player, calendar provider, or website that CourtWiz does not control.
2. Information we collect
Account and profile information
- Name, email address, mobile number, mailing address, profile image, timezone, and notification preference.
- Password hashes, email-verification state, linked sign-in provider identifiers, passkey credential information, two-factor settings, recovery information, and account status. CourtWiz does not store your plaintext password.
Groups, players, courts, and matches
- Public and private group names, membership, administrator roles, roster names and email addresses, invitations, and membership status.
- Court-location names, addresses, sports, surfaces, court counts, privacy settings, and user-submitted location reports.
- Match sport, date and time, timezone, location, organizer, invited roster, availability, RSVP status, confirmation status, messages, and calendar-feed information.
Communications and delivery records
We process emails used for invitations, reminders, RSVP responses, verification, sign-in, password resets, account changes, security notices, bounces, complaints, delivery status, and unsubscribes. Signed RSVP, calendar, and unsubscribe links contain tokens used to perform the requested action.
Technical and security information
We collect session identifiers, IP addresses, user-agent information, request paths and methods, response status and timing, login and security-event timestamps, rate-limit counters, and diagnostic logs. We use this information to authenticate users, prevent abuse, investigate failures, and operate CourtWiz.
3. Where information comes from
- You: when you register, edit your profile, create a group or location, schedule a match, RSVP, or contact us.
- Other CourtWiz users: when an organizer or group administrator adds you to a roster, group, invitation, or match.
- Google: if you choose Google Sign-In, we receive the basic account information you authorize, such as your name, email address, profile image, and provider identifier.
- Your browser or device: through essential cookies, local storage, request headers, and ordinary server communications.
- Service providers: such as email delivery, bounce, complaint, and delivery-status events.
4. How we use information
- Create and secure accounts; authenticate users; support passwords, magic links, Google Sign-In, passkeys, and two-factor authentication.
- Display profiles and administer public or private groups and player rosters.
- Schedule matches, collect RSVPs, confirm rosters, generate calendar feeds, and communicate changes.
- Provide court-location search and suggestions and preserve match location details.
- Send transactional, administrative, and security communications.
- Honor unsubscribe choices, diagnose delivery problems, prevent spam and abuse, and enforce rate limits.
- Maintain, troubleshoot, protect, and improve CourtWiz; comply with law; and enforce our Terms.
We do not use personal information for third-party behavioral advertising, and we do not sell personal information for money.
5. What other users can see
Privacy settings affect visibility, but scheduling necessarily shares some information with other people.
- Public groups and public court locations may be visible to signed-in CourtWiz users.
- Private groups and their rosters are available to authorized group members and administrators.
- Organizers, group members, and invited players may see information needed to coordinate a match, such as names, match details, location, and RSVP status.
- Site administrators may access account and service records when needed to support, secure, and administer CourtWiz.
- A person with a valid signed RSVP, calendar, or unsubscribe link can access the action and information associated with that link. Treat such links as private.
6. Service providers and other disclosures
We disclose information only as reasonably needed for the following purposes:
- Google: optional Google Sign-In and Google Maps Platform place search. Google may receive information needed to provide those features. See the Google Privacy Policy and Google Terms.
- Amazon Web Services: transactional email delivery through Amazon Simple Email Service, including recipient, message, and delivery-event information.
- Hosting and infrastructure providers: information processed to host, route, back up, monitor, and secure CourtWiz.
- Legal and safety disclosures: when required by law or reasonably necessary to protect rights, safety, users, or the service.
- Business transfers: in connection with a merger, financing, reorganization, or sale, subject to appropriate confidentiality protections.
We do not operate third-party advertising or analytics trackers in CourtWiz. We do not sell or share personal information for cross-context behavioral advertising.
7. Cookies and browser storage
CourtWiz uses essential cookies for authentication, session continuity, account security, and sign-in flows. Blocking these cookies may prevent you from signing in or using protected features.
A preference cookie remembers color theme, and another cookie provides your browser timezone for scheduling. Browser local storage remembers interface choices such as theme, sidebar state, calendar view, list preferences, dismissed notices, and temporary scheduling-workflow state. These values are used to operate the interface, not for advertising.
Google may use cookies or similar technologies when you choose a Google-powered feature, subject to Google’s policies and your Google settings.
8. Retention and deletion
We retain account and service information while your account is active and as needed to provide CourtWiz. Match, group, location, roster, email-delivery, unsubscribe, security, and audit records may remain longer when needed to preserve shared scheduling history, honor communication choices, prevent abuse, resolve disputes, or comply with law.
Authentication and action tokens expire according to their security purpose. Backup copies and logs are deleted on operational schedules rather than immediately. When information is no longer reasonably needed, we delete or deidentify it.
Deleting your account may not delete information supplied independently by another user or shared records that remain necessary for other participants. You may request deletion by emailing us.
9. Security
We use safeguards appropriate to the information we process, including encrypted transport, password hashing, verified session cookies, optional passkeys and two-factor authentication, access controls, short-lived signed actions, rate limits, and security logging. No system is completely secure, so we cannot guarantee absolute security.
Protect your credentials, recovery codes, and personalized RSVP or calendar links. Contact us promptly if you believe your account or a signed link has been compromised.
10. Your choices and privacy rights
You can update profile information and security settings in CourtWiz, choose group and location privacy settings where offered, unsubscribe from eligible notification emails, and stop using Google Sign-In through your Google account controls.
Depending on where you live and applicable law, you may request access, correction, deletion, portability, or a copy of personal information; ask about categories of information disclosed; or appeal a denied privacy request. We may verify your identity and may retain information where an exception applies. We will not discriminate against you for exercising applicable privacy rights.
Submit a request or appeal to [email protected] with “CourtWiz Privacy Request” or “CourtWiz Privacy Appeal” in the subject. Authorized agents should identify their authority. We will respond as required by applicable law.
Because CourtWiz does not sell personal information or use it for targeted advertising, there is no sale or targeted-advertising opt-out required for our current practices.
11. Children’s privacy
CourtWiz is not directed to children under 13, and children under 13 may not create accounts. We do not knowingly collect personal information directly from a child under 13 without legally valid parental consent. If you believe a child under 13 provided personal information, contact us so we can investigate and delete it where required.
Adults and organizers should not add a child’s contact information to CourtWiz unless they have authority and have considered whether email-based scheduling is appropriate.
12. International use, policy changes, and contact
CourtWiz is operated in the United States. If you use it from another country, your information may be processed in the United States, where privacy laws may differ.
We may update this policy as CourtWiz changes. We will update the date above and provide additional notice when a change materially affects how we use personal information.
